And it’s finished!

Of course, this isn’t the beauty shot that we’ll get when Sonata is framed, but it’s finished! Back to the Rainbow Gallery Flair – I found a place to use it since I really like it as an interesting texture. I stitched the last stitches, the Rhodes squares in the corners, with Flair. I normally […]

Sonata crescents

I’ve actually finished stitching the project but got a little behind on posting updates. So here’s what happened with the crescents: There are crescent pairs in each corner. Yesterday I began writing about a new teaching piece, Sonata. I’ll keep you informed about my progress as I continue on. After the layered Jessicas and double fan doubleds, I’ve added waffle stitches in Neon Rays. I love Neon Rays, one of my favorite threads, although I’ve been informed that some don’t like it. I’ve

Sonata – part 1

I’ve begun working on a new teaching piece, Sonata. A sonata is defined as a musical composition for a solo instrument. I’m thinking I’ll combine my interest in music with needlework and do a series of pieces named for musical compositions. Sonata is the first one. When I designed Sonata, I had in mind to
