CORNERED

Do you ever find it challenging to turn corners? This is the project for you! Cornered features several bands with instruction in turning outside and inside corners.

Teaching Objectives:

  • Learn to turn inside and outside corners with different stitches and motifs
  • Develop confidence and ease when stitching

Cornered explores several border stitches, making inside and outside corners with each border. Some of the turns are straightforward, others require a little manipulation to make an orderly turn. All of the stitches are executed with various weights of pearl cotton and metallic threads, using texture and weight to make some areas more prominent and others recede.

Stitches used: several different Jessicas, crescents, eyelets, waffles, sprat’s heads, Bargello swirls, layered cross stitch, 6 trip herringbone, windmills, diagonal stitch, trellis, Rhodes, scotch, bound cross, double cross and sutherland pattern.
