MOSTLY AMADEUS

Twisty stitches can be challenging, but the end result is stunning! Amadeus stitches belong in the “twisty” stitch family, and can be any size or shape.

Teaching Objectives:

  • Explore several sizes and shapes of Amadeus stitches
  • Encourage stitchers to develop a natural stitching rhythm without relying heavily on stitch diagrams
  • Promote ease and confidence when stitching Amadeus stitches
  • Recommended for basic to intermediate stitchers

Jean Hilton is credited with developing Amadeus stitches. In this project, stitchers will create round, triangle, open triangle arrow, dagger, oblique and heart shaped Amadeus stitches. The design is completed with fan vaulting, Rhodes, triple leviathan, fancy cross, waffle, irregular eyelets and tied double crosses.

Four color ways are offered: Bold – Aquamarina canvas with orange, purple and turquoise threads; Grayscale – Pewter canvas with grays to black threads with red accents; Monochromatic – Eggshell canvas with beiges to browns threads, and Pastel – Antique Blue canvas with pastel blues, yellows, lavenders and pinks.
