Teaching objectives:

  • Learn the best starting and stopping anchors for various stitches and types of threads
  • Stitch with several textures of thread
  • Develop a natural stitching rhythm by learning how various stitches are constructed

Starstruck is a collection of several star stitches, stitched with white threads against a dark blue background to imitate the night sky. Stars are layered from the outside to the inside, and vice versa, to illustrate the differences between the two.

Stitches include satin stitch stars, waffle star, Amadeus star, 8 pointed star, 12 pointed star, 16 pointed star, 24 pointed star, slanting stars, Smyrnas, Jessicas, tied windmill and ray stars.

Student Supplies 2 pairs 14" stretcher bars with tacks or staples; scissors, laying tool; magnification and lighting if needed (recommended for the dark canvas)
