2 – Upright Cross Stitch
The upright cross stitch forms a border around the center waffle stitch. In this lesson you'll learn about using an away waste knot, stitching with pearl cotton, empty holes and shared holes, wrapping the thread under the canvas, and ending a thread on the back of the canvas.

3 – Jessica Stitch
A Jessica stitch is a "string art" type stitch, very decorative, but can be a bit tricky. This stitch is between the waffle stitch and the upright cross stitches.

6 – Oriental Stitch
Oriental stitch is not a single stitch, but a pattern composed of two satin stitches, Milanese and gobelin. These are workhorse stitches that are used a lot in counted canvas. The oriental stitch pattern is effective stitched with a single color, but you can really see the pattern when you stitch the two parts in different colors.
