It’s Hot! Hot! Hot! July in western Oklahoma can be brutal. When we venture outside, it’s flip flops, shorts, tank tops, sunglasses, and big floppy hats to keep the sun off. So let’s celebrate the heat!
It’s so hot, even the sun wants sunglasses! Our shimmering sun is surrounded by flip flops, and radiates heat. You can stitch our cute tribute to the heat with our July Kit of the Month Hot! Hot! Hot!
I used Painter’s Threads this month, and the kit includes full reels of Shimmer 106 Klimt, Braided Metallic #8 114 Lawrence, and Presencia Hand-Dyed 6 strand cotton floss 101 Macke. We created the sunglasses embellishment in house, and the sun is padded with graduated felt circles. The full reels, sunglasses and felt circles are included in the kit, along with a size 22 tapestry needle and a line drawn 8″ x 8″ square of 18 ct. mono deluxe canvas in French Blue.
We’re continuing to offer the finishing kit as well: 2 pieces of 8″ x 8″ summer printed cotton fabric, 1 piece of 5″ x 5″ quilt batting, 1 piece of 6″ x 6″ matboard and 1 piece of 6″ x 6″ matboard with an approximately 4″ square window. I’ve even done a video so you can watch how to do this quick and easy finish.
The price for the kit is $32.25, and the finishing kit will ship in the same envelope for no additional shipping charge when ordered together, $10 for the finishing kit and $7.75 postage.
