You asked us – we heard you! I have been surprised by the enthusiasm around my finishes for the Kits of the Month. As I’ve said before (probably too many times) I’m NOT a finisher. But this simple finish has been embraced. So we added a finishing kit for the April Kit of the Month, and you have loved it! And have been asking for finishing kits for the others.
Here you go! We’ve added finishing kits for the previous Kits of the Month, and they are available to order now. The finishing kits include 2 pieces of 9″ x 9″ fabric, 1 piece of 5″ x 5″ quilt batting, and 2 pieces of 6″ x 6″ matboard, one with the 4″ x 4″ frame. The kits do not include the twisted cord or glue. Each kit is $10, and ships in a Priority Mail envelope with the Kit of the Month when ordered together, or $7.75 when ordered separately. Of course if you want more than one we’ll ship them in the same envelope. We have shipped most of the orders for the April Kit of the Month Rainy Day, but if you have an order pending already and decide to order the finishing kits, we’ll ship them with what you’ve already ordered. (As usual this year, we’re waiting on threads so we can ship the rest of the orders.)
I was not able to get the same fabric I used for the January Welcome Winter model, but I like the snowflake printed fabric better than the original! The original fabric I used is not available, a dark blue printed with silver stars; I wanted snowflake fabric to begin with, and am so pleased I’ve found some!
This is what it will look like with the alternate fabric, still pretty cute in my opinion!
For the February finishing kit I was able to find the same fabric, so it will look just like the model. I love this red fabric printed with gold foil swirls!
The March fabric may be my favorite yet! Although it isn’t printed with four-leaf clovers, it gives the feeling of a field of clover. This is the same as the fabric I used for the March Lucky Day model.
All of the finishing kits have been added to the website, but we do have a limited supply. We still have some kits for the April Rainy Day Kit of the Month, but will not be able to get more fabric so when they’re gone they’re gone. Likewise the other finishing kits – when we’re out, we won’t be able to order more.
Going forward we’ll make sure to have finishing kits for the models coming up. Can’t wait for you to see May – but you’ll have to wait!
