Everyone knows the song “Oklahoma!” I live in Oklahoma, and the wind really does “come sweeping down the plain”. We consider 5 to 10 miles an hour to be a dead calm day; usually it’s much much much windier than that!
So instead of fighting the wind, we’re celebrating it with a colorful pinwheel! Our March Kit of the Month features a Milanese pinwheel, surrounded by a “plain” of lattice stitches with French knots, and a border of Smyrna crosses.
I selected shiny Neon Rays for the Milanese pinwheel, and Treenway silks in two weights for the border and background stitches, with white 18 ct. deluxe mono canvas.
It all stitches together very quickly, so you can enjoy your pinwheel all month long!
We have the finishing kit and display stand ready to go as well. I absolutely love this bright print for the finishing kit. I don’t know that I would want an outfit made from it, but it makes me happy just looking at it!
We created a special display stand as well, picking up the green in the finishing kit and stitches, and accenting with yellow dots like the finishing kit.
Altogether, March’s Kit of the Month Let The Wind Blow! is fun and interesting from the front and the back!
