Allegro lives up to its musical name—this is a lively, rhythmic composition where every quadrant offers its own moment of brilliance. At the heart of the design, a dramatic Kitty’s Double Fan Doubled creates a richly knotted focal point, its layered curves drawing the eye inward. Surrounding it, Sprat’s Heads and graceful tear drop crescents form a dynamic frame, with a textured filling stitch adding depth inside each crescent.  From this center, star shaped Jessicas burst outward like points of light, each one anchored by a round Jessica at its core. Back to back parallelogram Jessicas bracket these stars, giving the piece a sense of movement and architectural lift.

 

Across the canvas, large waffle stitches, Rhodes stitches, and web stitches appear as bold spot motifs, adding contrast and dimension. Along the outer edges, smooth, flowing Milanese stitches provide a calm counterbalance to the design’s lively center.

 

The result is a project that feels both intricate and harmonious—an engaging stitch journey for anyone who loves texture, symmetry, and a touch of drama.

What will you learn?

• “Twisty” stitches like the Kitty’s double fan doubled, star Jessicas and other Jessica shapes, ombre color shading among other useful stitching info
• How to use pin stitches and loop starts for secure thread anchors, including ending with pin stitches
• The mechanics of complex stitches, so you can learn to stitch with more ease and enjoyment without reliance on the instructions all the time
• Working with specialty threads like rayon floss, rayon ribbons and more

The design size is 8″ x 8″, with a canvas cut size of 14″ x 14″ to allow plenty of room for finishing as you choose and less awkward stitching. Sandstone 18 ct. mono deluxe canvas adds another dimension of color to the project, executed in rich browns, olive greens and turquoise blues.

A DebBee’s Designs class features video stitch demonstrations, available during the class and after, video conferencing and thorough stitch diagrams and instructions in a printed and bound booklet. The video conferencing sessions are recorded for your reference even if you can’t “attend” in person.

Important class dates:

• February 22 – March 11, 2026 – Registration open
• March 11, 2026 – last day of registration for kit, but registration still available for other options (chart with canvas, chart only or audit)
• May 26 – June 30, 2026 – online class (6 weeks, one lesson per week; live video conferencing sessions weekly Tuesdays at 10 a.m. Central, sessions are recorded for those who can’t attend “in person”)
• Class officially ends June 30, 2026, but classroom remains open for questions, follow-up and posting progress photos
