Divisions is a 12” x 12” square project, stitched on 18 ct. eggshell mono canvas or 18 ct. white mono canvas. Choose from two set colorways (Peacock or Southwest) or create your own colorway. The project is recommended for intermediate to advanced stitchers, and the ability to read a chart is a “must.” I encourage stitchers to achieve a natural stitching rhythm by learning how to execute complex stitches without constantly referring to the stitch diagrams; video stitch demonstrations and Zoom teaching sessions help to achieve that goal. This project features beautiful Treenway silks in four weights, so you’ll have the opportunity to explore a newer thread line.
The Southwest color way uses Treenway Silks in four weights (Serenity, Tranquility, Harmony and Zen Shin), with Presencia pearl cottons, Kreinik metallics, and Rainbow Gallery Neon Rays and Silk Lame’ Braids. The light turquoise, beige and apricot colors evoke the feeling of southwest vistas.
A peacock inspired the second color way, with cotton threads instead of silks. Still lots of interesting textures to play with – floss, pearl cotton, Kreinik metallics, Rainbow Gallery Neon Rays and Silk Lame’ Braid, and Treenway Silks Zen Shin, with ThreadworX overdyed cotton floss tying everything together.
Both kits will include hot fix crystals to use to highlight areas; stitchers can use them or not as they choose.
Several distinct areas are explored in the 8 weekly lessons. Stitches used are waffles, double fan doubled, Jessicas, walnetos, crescents, battlement couching, bound cross, reverse laced wheels, fancy cross, Amadeus, rays, Brighton, Victorian step, double leviathan, woven ribbons, sword Amadeus, trellis cross, scotch with overstitching, Hungarian, sprat’s heads, triangle Amadeus, Rhodes, 8 trip herringbone, bunger and laid patterns.
