Spectrum was inspired by the color wheel, employing primary and secondary colors in a quasi-log cabin design.
The stitches are not overly complex, arranged in bands, making Spectrum an interesting project as a stitch sampler study, and as an introduction to counted canvas work.
Most of the threads used are easily accessible DMC cotton flosses, with a little DMC #8 pearl cotton and Kreinik metallics for added sparkle. The instructions include suggestions for even more sparkle – can a project be too “blingy”?!
18 ct. white canvas, design size is 8” x 8” square, 144 x 144 stitches
