Subtle shading and layered stitches capture the soft beauty of garden flowers emerging from a gentle morning mist. Misty Blooms features an interesting stitch, battlement couching, surrounded by borders that evoke a sense of flowers around a garden structure.
The battlement couching stitch is one of my favorites because it looks complex but is oh so simple! And with the borders in place counting is a breeze – you’ll be able to finish this one in a snap!
Tied windmills, Hungarian diamonds, satin stitches and Rhodes diamonds form the outer borders, with the remaining center filled with the battlement couching. I stitched with Rainbow Gallery Overture and Neon Rays, ThreadworX #8 metallic braid and Presencia cotton floss. I finished with a small stand (earring stands available here: Earring Display Stands
