Progress!

Our Stitch Along 2026 is headed to the finish line! I’ve made significant progress since my last post:

  • I’ve decided on a name
  • I’ve finished the stitching
  • I’ve created a thread list

First, the name – since I can now see the finished project, I decided to name this project “My Patchwork Garden”. This may give you a hint to the what the final project will look like!

Second, I’ve completely finished stitching! I love this more and more, and can’t wait for you to see it!

Third, since I’ve finished the stitching I can now share a thread list with you. In the thread list I’ve listed the exact threads I used, then some potential substitutes. I stitched with silk threads, Gloriana, but silk may be out of your budget. So I’ve suggested substitutes for the silk threads, using the DMC and Presencia color cards.

You can download the list by clicking on this link: Stitch Along 2026 My Patchwork Garden Thread List

Now for the next part of the Stitch Along, inner mosaic stitch borders. I wanted something small to separate the corners from the rest of the stitching, so I used mosaic stitch. Mosaic stitch just covers 2 canvas threads by 2 canvas threads, so it’s a good choice for a small border. I used a color I haven’t used as much yet, to tie the corners into the center motif.

You can get all of the instructions for the Stitch Along so far here: Stitch Along Part 13

I’ve reduced some of my daily work load, so I hope to not be so long between parts of the Stitch Along. But you know how best intentions go!

Thank you so much for everything you are giving us here. I would like to order the threads in Gloriana. How many skeins will I need for each color? 1? 2? Thank you!
