Time for a Stitch Along!

It’s been a few months since I was able to develop a new Stitch Along, and it’s time! I have some pressing deadlines behind me and am ready to pick up the needle again.

This time, the stitch along will be revealed a week at a time. I’ve already gotten the design finished, so I know where I’m going, but it will be a surprise to those of you stitching with me.

I’ve selected just a few threads for this design. I went stash diving and came up with 3 shades of Rainbow Gallery Splendor, and 2 coordinating Kreinik #8 braids.

In case you can’t read the numbers, I’ve picked Splendor S907 Dark Pistachio Green for the darkest shade, Splendor S906 Medium Pistachio Green for the medium shade, and Splendor S905 Lite Pistachio Green for the lightest shade. I’ve added in Splendor S900 Pale Beige for a neutral color. The Kreinik colors are 9194 Star Green to match the lightest shade, and 5555 Oyster to match the neutral shade. I’m not sure at this point if I’ll use the metallics, but thought it would be nice to have them in case I decided to use them.

I’m going to stitch on 18 ct. eggshell mono deluxe canvas, 12″ x 12″. I don’t have the canvas mounted yet but will do that later today. The design size is 6″ x 6″, so the 12″ square of canvas will give me plenty of room for stitching.

I haven’t decided how I’ll finish the project yet, but I have several options, including some wooden boxes and trivets from Sudberry House. I could always decide to frame it. I’ll cross that bridge when I come to it!

The name of the design is Labyrinth, and it’s based on a quilt block design.

So this week, look into your stash for three shades of a stranded fiber (cotton or silk, doesn’t really matter) and a neutral shade. Throw in a couple of metallics if you have them, just in case we decide to use them. Get your canvas mounted and ready to stitch, and we’ll start the stitching next week!

I hope you’ll stitch along with me!

Just in time for me to join, having finished my present project. Please add me to the list. Cheers Olivia in the UK.

    1. Thanks Olivia – no need to join anything, just watch on Mondays for the next part of the stitch along. It’s informal! Debbie
