Fantasia – would you like to join us?

I’ll be teaching Fantasia for the Quinsippi Needleworkers in Quincy, IL April 12-14. If you’d like to have this project, you can either join us in Quincy, or take the class as a ghost.

What is a ghost? A ghost is someone who can’t attend the class in person, but will get all the materials after the class. And by all the materials, I mean the canvas, the printed instructions, the threads and access to the video stitch demonstrations, plus I’ll answer emails when you have questions. In short, everything from an in-person class, without being in-person.

Fantasia was first offered for ANG National Seminar in 2021 – and was taught virtually since we couldn’t be in person that year. So it’s very doable without being in class. Fantasia is lots of fan shapes, overlapping each other for the central motif, with additional fans all around. It isn’t a huge project, about 8″ x 8″, with a canvas cut size of 14″ x 14″, stitched with DMC cotton flosses and #8 pearl cottons, Caron Collection Watercolours and Kreinik #8 and #12 Braids.

If you’re not a fan of black canvas, you have the option of stitching it on white canvas! The colors are still striking, and it’s still a wonderful project.
